General Mills Supports the Boone County Council on Aging With a Check for $15,000
On December 29, 2017, the Boone County Council on Aging received a grant for $15,000 from the General Mills Foundation Hometown Grantmaking Program. Mr. Jeremy Johnson of the Belvidere plant and his committee approved the grant to be used for a new Latino Outreach Program. Joe Fortmann, the Executive Director expresses his gratitude for General Mills’ generosity and welcomes them as a partner in this initiative. Thanks, General Mills!

Enbridge Gives a $2,000 Grant to the Boone County Council on Aging
On December 18, 2017, Taylor Smith, Sr. Community Engagement Analyst from Enbridge presented Melaney Dembicky, Supervisor of the Transportation Department with a check for $2,000 to be used toward the purchase of dispatch software. Also present were two Board members: Jeff Gerlach, Vice President and Jim Cox, Treasurer; Joe Fortmann, Executive Director; Rachel Vinciguerra, Bookkeeper; June Doty, Grant Writer; and Neeley Erickson on behalf of Representative Joe Sosnowski, 69th District. The Boone County Council on Aging extends a big thanks to Enbridge for their support.

The Keen Age Center, located at 2141 Henry Luckow Lane in Belvidere, Illinois, serves as headquarters for the professional staff and volunteers for all services provided by Boone County Council on Aging as well as a recreational and meeting site for older adults. The Keen Age Center is open weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
