BCCA offers Public Transportation service, equipped with wheel-chair lifts, to ALL residents of Boone County, regardless of age.
Medical Car Service is available for medical needs in adjoining counties with a minimum of one week advance notice. The Medical Car is billed by mileage 50 cents per mile.
Cost of Service for Boone County Travel for a One Way Trip
Adults under 60 years $2.00 per trip
Adults 60 years and over Donations Gratefully Accepted
Children (under 12 years) $1.00 per trip
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Children 3 years old and under must have a Car Seat.
How to Schedule a Ride
Reservations are required. Please call 815-544-9893 at least one day in advance to request a ride. (Exceptions are made for same day medical appointments in Boone County). Our dispatchers will ask for your name, address, destination, time of appointment, and if you will need special assistance. We will make every effort to accommodate you.
Funding for public transportation is received through a Section 5311 grant with Boone County from the Illinois Department of Transportation and Downstate Operation Assistance Program through Rockford Mass Transit District. Funds are also provided by the State of Illinois Donated Funds Initiative from Title XX of the Social Security Act, administered by the Department of Human Services, and the Illinois Department on Aging. Funding is additionally provided by Boone County, City of Belvidere, Belvidere Township, Poplar Grove Township, Bonus Township, Boone Township, Spring Township, Flora Township, Caledonia Township, Manchester Township and the United Way of Boone County, fares and donations.
